Once the cycle has been synchronized with the nurse, daily hormone injections should be administered into the abdomen for an average of 10 to 12 days. These will stimulate your ovaries to produce and develop more eggs than your body naturally produces each month. During the stimulation cycle, you will go to the fertility clinic to check appointments and confirm that the medications are working well and that the dose is correct. This allows our doctors to ensure your safety as an egg donor.

Egg retrieval takes 20-30 minutes. With a transvaginal ultrasound probe, the doctor will guide a needle into each ovary to remove the egg from each follicle. Because you are under anesthesia for the extraction, the entire visit usually takes up to 3 hours. After recovery, you should take the rest of the day off, but you can start light activity or even go back to work the next day.
